These cartridges were specially developed for drinking fountains, table water systems, water dispensers and well water.
They contain Fibredyne II media, which inhibits the growth of bacteria on the filter medium and reduces cysts such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia. Fibredyne II consists of powdered activated carbon bonded to a cellulose-free synthetic fiber matrix using a special wet-forming process.
Any unpleasant taste or odor in the water, as well as chlorine, is removed as the water flows through the filter media. Fibredyne II is also part of the ultrafine filtration system, which filters out particles down to 0.2 micrometers (0.0002 mm) in size.

The reduction in germs is usually expressed in log levels. Each log level represents a reduction by a power of ten. The 2FC water filter has a log 5 level, which represents a reduction of 100,000,000 microorganisms to 1,000.
That's a reduction of 99.999%.
