When chemically cleaning postmix and beer dispensing systems, a distinction is made between alkaline and acidic.
Use
of alkaline cleaning agents for:
- Organic contaminants (microorganisms, hop resins, proteins, sugar, etc.) are the most common buildups in hose lines. These can best be removed with alkaline cleaners.

Use
of acidic cleaning agents for:
- Mineral deposits, for example lime or beer stone.
